deeply rooted: creative worship consulting
creative worship and neighborhood
we live in a world of disconnection. we drive, defying our physical limitations. we work and/or play on computers that connect us electronically but isolate us physically. we buy food and clothes that we have no idea where they come from. even our money is mostly electronic.
but God gave us bodies and a world and realities.
God gave us neighbors to love and live with.
our worship should not be a continuation of our spatial and physical disconnect with the world around us. it should be a time for us to connect to God in a way that roots us in the bodies God has given us, fills us with God's love for our world, and overflows into love of the neighbors living around us.
deeply rooted is deeply interested in how the ways we worship can connect us to the physical realities and environments God has given us as a gift and as an ecosystem in which to live and share the Gospel.
one example is to have time in a worship service where people walk around their neighborhood and ask God to show them what God is doing. or maybe use pictures from your neighborhood as the slide background for lyrics. or sing songs your church has written about what it means to follow God in your specific neighborhood. there are so many ways that we can re-connect to the places God has given to us as we gather to re-connect to God and to each other!
if you are interested in this, please contact us! we would love to help you step into the dream of worship that roots us in our neighborhoods and sends us out to transform them!
